I am so excited to have recently joined Primmer as the newest member of the Health Law Team, having just started in January 2023. I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Vermont LOS Program and share my journey with you. Before joining Primmer, I spent 20 years in healthcare leadership – including 13 years in healthcare compliance and risk management in Vermont. I completed my undergrad studies in Government/History & French at St. Lawrence University in 2001, moved to Vermont, and joined the healthcare workforce in 2002. I loved the fast-paced, ever-changing, and ever-challenging hospital legal landscape so much that I took the opportunity to study and receive a Masters of Jurisprudence in Healthcare Law. With experience in risk and claims mitigation, employment law, and regulatory management, healthcare leadership, as well as a Certificate in Healthcare Compliance (CHC), I can safely say I found my passion and my purpose.
After two and a half years leading and or participating in the COVID-19 response at my organization, I recognized that I was ready for a new challenge and growth while still wanting to do the work I have grown to love. When the opportunity to join the Primmer Team and enroll in the Vermont Law Office Study Program was presented to me, it felt like the perfect fit and the next logical step in my career. While I am looking forward to passing the bar and practicing in the health and employment law fields here at Primmer, I am also enjoying the start of this LOS journey and the learning opportunities I have had already.
It’s not often you can combine your passion with your everyday work. It is like they say, if you love what you do, you never have to work a day in your life.
To have the opportunity to do that with the talented team at Primmer mentoring me and guiding my journey is a true gift and I cannot wait to share it with all of you.
Thank you for reading and stay tuned.
