The Firm earned a major victory by obtaining dismissal of a federal suit against one of its clients. The client provided professional services to a Vermont municipality embroiled in a classic “Hatfield v. McCoy” saga. A former Town official sued the Firm’s client and the Town under various claims of defamation, conspiracy and unconstitutional conduct. After extensive discovery, the Vermont District Court dismissed the case on summary judgment issuing a 48 page decision. The matter was handled by Gary Franklin.
